Tivo-ing through 'Attack of the Show'Permalink: 8/30/2005 07:30:00 PM | << Back HomeI programmed a 30-Second skip button onto my Comcast DVR remote (Google it), so now I don't have to sit through any more Kevin Perierra silliness. I generally wait 20+ minutes into the show to start watching so that I have plenty of skip times. Schedule: (all skipping aside from the commericals, which are a gimme) -- Play the recording, press skip twice. You'll skip past the intro and slightly into the opening dialogue, but usually it's all pointless babble. Shortly thereafter will they be showing off some cool new sites, which you can skip through at will. -- If it's "LAN Party Thursday" or whatever, you can skip straight through it, through the commercial afterward, and back into whatever's happening first. -- The rest of the show, other than commercials, is segments like "The Feed", "DVDuesday", and the closing words. You can generally skip through most of these unless you hear something interesting going on. Also, on Thursdays, there's another Lan Party interview that you can usually skip through. -- On Friday, most of the bands aren't very good so you can skip through both performances. -- Whenever questions are asked live on-the-air, they're always stupid and you can always skip through them. Generally the *actual* show lasts around 30 to 35 minutes, plus you can skip through whatever you want. A lot of the show is summerized transitions between segments, and you'll pretty easily be able to save yourself some valuable minutes. |
