Well, I'm not broke, BUT...

Permalink: 1/25/2006 07:26:00 PM

Haha, this week I've replaced the two most expensive things I own... luckily one was free.

I finally got my complimentary Powerbook replacement from Apple, because my old computer wouldn't stop breaking. Then, I finally caved and found a Volkswagen R32 in Deep Blue Pearl.

They only made 5,000 of them here in the USA back in 2003/2004. Basically it's a souped-up GTI with all-wheel-drive and the engine from the VW Touareg/base-level Phaeton/base-level Porsche Cayenne/and top-level Audi TT. 6 Speed manual, all the goodies, and an extended warranty just for me.

New GTI?

The different in price was about a grand for less power and front-wheel-drive. Eff that. It reminds me of that Ford Focus Z or whatever. I'll probably get one of the new ones eventually but we'll see how soon they can get the bugs out of them.

Sold to me. :) If you want to pickup my current car, here in the Boston area, click-here.

What are they putting in these things?

I have that new 60GB Black iPod (5th Generation) and I have to say, I am amazed at the battery life.

No joke, I just listened to Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service.... for TWELVE HOURS, without charging. It just now crapped out and I started it around 2AM EST.

Screw XBox 360, my GameCube does "High-Def".

Permalink: 1/15/2006 08:32:00 PM

It's not widescreen, but it's in progressive scan on 90% of the Nintendo titles, and a good amount of non-Nintendo titles. Since I only have games actually made by Nintendo, I hopped onto eBay and got one of component video output cables and it looks crystal clear.

digg story?

All you have to do is load the game up holding down the 'B-button' and it'll ask you if you want to enable 480p. It looks damn good.

This'll only work on older GameCubes (produced before May 2004) with the
"Digital AV Out" port on the back. If you don't have it, either grab a used GameCube with it, or wait for Nintendo Revolution to come out.

Don't throw out that old Dock!

I just discovered that my old 3G iPod Dock, fit the new Video iPods perfectly!

3G Dock + 5G iPod = Success!

Just got Sirius satellite radio.

Permalink: 1/14/2006 05:52:00 PM

Got the radio (hard to find, everyone's sold out!) and wired it into my car's iPod adapter's AUX-IN. :)

The service's audio quality's kinda crappy (as in, FM-crappy) but overall I'm pleased since the reason I got it was to clear my mind and discover new music! (it has a memo button that you can remember songs with, very nice)

Routed the antenna to the hatch:

Inside shots:

Pretty sweet. This receiver has "Tivo-like" functionality where you can rewind and pause up to 45 minutes of audio, automatically. It also has traffic alerts for major cities/areas and has 30 available presets for you to quickly navigate!

Southpark: Lost Episode (Cleared Up!)

Permalink: 1/05/2006 08:41:00 AM

"Keith Mother-F***in Cody" e-mailed me to say this:
smash, Comedy Central made a big deal about the return of Lemmiwinks in a upcoming episode earlier this year. There was a few weeks of hype. Then no episode.

I knew there was a cover-up! If you don't know who Lemmiwinks is, look here.

Link to the old post I made about this.

UPDATE: More from Wikipedia:
-- During the first half of the eighth season of South Park, a commercial aired stating that "The greatest South Park character of all time would return... LEMMIWINKS!"

-- At the beginning of episode 802, "AWESOM-O", a message is read stating, "Due to this week's tragic events in Hawaii, the "Lemmiwinks" episode of South Park will not be shown tonight. Instead we present the all new and slighty better episode, 'AWESOM-O.'"

YouTube.

Permalink: 1/04/2006 08:43:00 PM

I've officially jumped onto the 'YouTube' video bandwagon! All of the "smash's world classics" have been uploaded, as will short features in the future.

I have to say one of my favorite features about the site is that you can upload a video in pretty much any format, and it'll universally just deal with it. I love that! They seriously need to allow me to e-mail videos from my cellphone, though.

Either way, here are two of my favorites:

Even more awesome songs.

I'm still working on the same awesome stuff, but I thought I'd pass a few more tracks along. :)

1. 'Bed' by Moby
2. 'Dream About Me' by Moby
-- In my opinion, this is one of the best songs ever recorded.

3. 'Soul Meets Body' by Death Cab For Cutie
4. 'Different Names for the Same Thing' by Death Cab For Cutie
5. 'Runnin' With A Gun' by Slightly Stoopid
6. 'In the Morning (Album Version)' by The Coral
7. 'Emily' by Bowling For Soup
